Today I spent the whole day with my family and my bf. Sounds super fun. But it wasn’t.
We cleaned. All dang day. My backseat is full. My trunk is full. My mom’s backseat was full. The hallway is currently still filled and there’s a load of shit out by the road.
We cleaned so hard. And I am exhausted. Hugest shout out to my bf for spending his day off helping my fam clean. You da best.
Tonight’s post is the last post in my plaid / flannel mini series and I’m kind of sad about it.
So sad that I’ll probably post another flannel outfit later this week because I am obsessed. But here goes the last three outfits.
This first outfit is super laid back and casual. I am a huge fan of wearing a flannel unbuttoned, just hanging over a shirt. And I’m also a huge fan of mixing prints and patterns. Stripes and plaid = perfect. Don’t be afraid to mix and match with your patterns and prints.
I just paired this with a pair of super dark wash skinny jeans – my fav colour of jeans, and my hightop white Converse that do not get enough love.
Side note on pattern / print mixing: I also love wearing plaid with leopard or camo print. So cute. Please tell me I’m not alone mixing patterns and prints. Every time I do this, my mom teases me about when I was 4 years old and wore a bubble gum print dress with cow printed shorted and not one, not two, not even three, but six hats on top of my head because I just wanted to incorporate ALL the colours. I paired this with my “fuschia boots” aka purple Timberlands and a sparkly purse. I went to Tim Horton’s with no care in the world. <<<< mixing and matching has always been a fav of mine I guess.
The next outfit is a little bit more dressy yet still sporty. I adore t shirt dresses. They are the most comfy, versatile, staple piece that I think every girl should own ( <<<< I have a black, white, peach and army green one, love them ).
I love mixing the denim jacket with the plaid flannel. This is my fav combo besides plaid and ( p )leather. Pairing this with a super cute pair of boots is how I chose to finish it off. I think this would look really cute with a pair of Converse as well. It would add to the sporty feel.
This final outfit is one last dressier one. I think it looks really classy with the gold and black. I love this necklace. It was super cheap from Forever 21 last season ( love ). I also think the hair pulled back out of my face adds to the dressy feel of this particular outfit.
I love love love buttoning up flannels all the way and tucking them in to bottoms as I showed you here. This outfit is probably my very favourite out of them all. This would be super cute with white jeans too ( I don’t believe in the no white after Labour Day rule and you should break it too! ).
I have so loved doing this little plaid series. Flannels are my fav addition to any outfit in the fall and I think it is so fun to be inspired on new ways to wear / style them. I have tons of more fashion posts coming up and I’m so excited for them! Hope you guys are having a good week!
