Happy Friday to you! Today I thought it would be fun to share a few favourites from the past week. As you may or may not know, this past week I’ve been doing the Ideal Protein Protocol. It’s been an eye-opening experience so far and I’ve been researching healthy recipes to try when I’m finished IPP ( as well as procrastinating a 3,000 word paper but you know… )! The internet is quite possibly my favourite thing & I spend FAR too much time on it… whether I’m browsing what my friends are up to on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter or bouncing from blog to blog, I’m almost always connected when I have free time. So over the past week while I’ve been procrastinating my paper and salivating at the thought of  eating whatever I…

On Saturday, I posted about why I chose to follow the Ideal Protein Protocol and I promised that I would go in to detail about what it is in “tomorrow’s post” ( AKA yesterday ) & then exhaustion set in and I chose a Lush bubblebath and sleeping at 9pm over blogging. <<< IPP is wearing me down. I’ve been awake for about 2 hours minutes after a 12-hour sleep last night and I’m already ready for a nap… #thestruggleisreal This weekend has been a trying time. If Daniel and I can make it through this, then we can make it through ANYTHING the world throws at us ( kidding, but not really haha ). Same goes with me and my mom. It’s been a few days full of ups and downs, moments of anger and sadness, extreme…

Hi, hello, good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Today I want to share something new that I am embarking on. I’ve never been one to follow fad diets, change my lifestyle intensely ( except when I found out I was gluten sensitive ) or even one to really CARE about what I was putting in my body. I’ve always been slender for my height ( I’m 5’7″ – 8″ depends on the day haha ) and I’ve always been active, through dance, soccer, running, yoga and at-home workouts. My mom always compliments me on what / how I eat. She often says things like “I’m SO proud of how you fuel your body” or “I’m so impressed that you incorporate fruits and veggies into your meals”. My family ( especially the women in the fam…

The month of February was BEAUTIFUL around here. I mean sure it was cold some days, but we really had no snow compared to most winters. I think we had 2 snow days in the whole of February, maybe even one??? That’s a huge drop from last year, when they stopped giving us snow days because it was so crappy all the time that they couldn’t keep the city shut down for so long. I enjoyed friends and family, as well as the outdoors & started on my fitness and health journey in February. One of my goals for February was to enjoy the outdoors and not let the winter weather / sunset times get me down and I think I was most successful in this. Here’s a little Snapchat recap of the past month… I…

All of my life, I have been of small to average size for my height / age. I’ve been active throughout my life, participating in activities like competitive dance, soccer, skating and swimming ( my mom also says, “once I learned to run, I NEVER walked again” ), so I guess you could say I’ve been quite active through running too. I had always been able to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted and nothing would happen to me. My weight would never fluctuate. It stayed steady in the low 120’s, which was below average for my height, age and body type, no matter what I did or didn’t do, no matter how badly or healthy I ate. I never really needed a ton of sleep, like being tired never ruined my plans or…
