So apologies in advance. Today’s post is going to be a long one. I wanted to get my March Recap and April Goals up yesterday, but like I said on Wednesday ( & as you may be able to tell ), Thursdays are a total write-off around here. Thursdays I work 3 jobs back-to-back-to-back from 11 am until 9 pm and then last night, I had to apply for 3 jobs before midnight and get some sort of rest because today is a busy day again. Instead of sleeping though, I got really carried away and applied for a whole whack of jobs, including a position as a hostess at the Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boutique in Disney World haha I don’t really know what I was thinking. It was midnight & I was rollin’ with it.
First up: Friday Favourites:
As usual, I’m linking up with Erika, Narci and Andrea, that I found through Shay’s blog ( LOVE ). I have a few favourites for y’all this week, but not too many. I realized I didn’t do that much this week & I kinda sorta loved it. 3 day weeks are a blessing.
▸ The fact that April Fool’s Day falls on an in-service day:
Seriously you know how much of a blessing this is if you work within schools / afterschool programs. I cannot deal with all the whining and pretend drama that is April Fool’s Day. I don’t know what it is, but I have never been a fan. 5 year olds especially take this to the extreme and go overboard and basically drive you insane. Also friends – remember that April Fool’s Day ends at noon. If you tell me you’re pregnant ( before or after noon ), be prepared for some serious silent treatment. #yourenotveryfunny
▸ Paring dressy pieces with more casual laidback pieces:
This is just may be my absolutely favourite of this week. I blogged about this outfit on Wednesday and I’m seriously debating on wearing it again today or not… too soon? Also – I’m just super excited about spring fashion in general. I’m so over layers and heavy coats. Bring on the sunshine and shorts!
▸ 60 Days In:
I have NEVER in my life been so obsessed and intrigued by a TV show & I am a self-admitted TV addict. I have the TV on all the freakin’ time and I watch far too many series but I couldn’t resist trying this new show. It’s called 60 Days In and it’s on A&E and it’s so interesting. Seven innocent people, ranging from a police officer in a different state to a stay-at-home mom, to a retired marine to Muhammed Ali’s daughter, have all given up 60 days of their lives to go into prison and experience it. None of the CO’s, prison officials, other inmates or anybody know that they are innocent. The other inmates believe that they are simply on a documentary about life in prison, which I guess is true, but it’s also really interesting to hear the innocent prisoners opinions and watch their interaction. Guys, it’s just so good. Give it a watch & I promise you won’t regret it.
▸ NARS foundation paired with creamy concealer:
NARS makeup is quickly becoming one of my favourites. I used to swear by Caryl Baker concealer, but then they closed out of my province and I couldn’t get my hands on it anymore. I used to swear by Estee Lauder foundation and then I discovered NARS & a new love affair began. It’s the best coverage, not too heavy but still full-coverage. It lasts pretty well throughout the day and so far, I have no complaints!
▸ Boston Red Sox Opening Day:
Maybe this Monday won’t be a bad one! It officially feels like summer when baseball season starts and this is how happy I am about it ( see image below HA ). I can’t wait to make a trip to Boston this summer and catch another game at Fenway Park! Who’s up for a road trip?!
Up next: March Recap:
Looking back through my camera roll, I realized that I took a lot of snaps this month… this isn’t even all of them, but I will spare you the 100’s of pictures and we’ll just roll with these ones. March was one busy month. Between house-sitting and school work, week-long work camps and 7-period hockey games, too many baths and days exploring the city, March was super fun.
& finally: April Goals:
I promise I’ll keep these short and sweet.
▸ Actually go to my eye appointment: I’ve finally made an eye appointment and now I just need to actually go to it and not cancel it. I’m the worst for appointments and always figure something else out that I should do that day and cancel it a week before. Especially eye appointments. Because I HATE eye appointments… but I desperately need new glasses so I’m making sure I do this in April.
▸ Keep my room clean: I’m the best at cleaning my room spotless and then less than a few days later, it’s like an explosion goes off and all my hard work was for nothing. This month I’m making it a promise to myself that I’ll keep my room clean.
▸ Drink 2 litres of water a day: On IPP it’s important that you drink 2L of water a day and I’ve been pretty good lately at drinking at least 2L of water on days that I’m at work and have a structured schedule, but I know in April things start to slow down and I have less of a structured routine so I fall off. I am determined to keep on drinking the amount of water I have been lately because A) it’s important to for IPP, & B) it’s good for me.
▸ Enjoy Cuba: This just may be my favourite goal and the most important goal for me this month. Sometimes I get overwhelmed on vacations and let my anxieties and worries control me but I am determined to enjoy my vacation from start to finish this year. Cuba 2016 will be one for the books!
That’s it for this week’s Friday Favourites, this monthly recap & my monthly goals! Sorry again that it was SO long. I just couldn’t resist any of these posts because all three are my favourite posts to write. I guess a goal for this month could be to plan things out better so that I can get posts up on different days! Have a happy weekend!
