I’m not usually a fan of Mondays but today I am loving the fresh start feel to this week. As you may know, last week was a rough one for more than a few reasons and I am determined to have a better week starting now.
I’ve been wide awake since 6:15am – for no apparent reason – and I’m loving the feeling of not wasting my day. I mean, sure I stayed in bed until about 7:45am but I was working on writing posts and making collages for future blog posts.
I drove my brother to school ( so he didn’t have to take the bus! He told me I was his favourite sister – even though I’m his only sister, I’ll take it ) & Daniel passed his driver’s test so weeeoooo! Less driving for me!
I met up with Daniel and Alexah at a coffee shop to do homework, but I conveniently left my course syllabuses at home, and the website is down… so I have to blog… Life is rough!
My mom and I started the Wheat Belly 10-Day Detox this AM & I had a vanilla bean latte – seriously this Monday is SO great. I am going to make Daniel take some blog photos today, I work later ( but it’s with my FAV kiddos ) and this detox calls for pizza for supper – Italian sausage pizza at that!
Today’s outfit incorporates my favourite colours and my favourite print.
Olive green, black and leopard print – can life get ANY better?
I love this skirt because it’s the perfect length to wear to school / work / functions, the material is suede which is a super popular trend this season & the colour is my fav to wear in the fall ( other than black and burgundy ). I found it at Forever 21 for such a good deal. I’m pretty sure it was like $12.90 or $14.90. I can’t seem to find my skirt online, but I’m sure it’s still in stores because I picked it up not too long ago.
This shirt is one of my FAVS from the basic section at H&M. I love H&M’s basic shirts. They’re such good quality & very fairly priced. They last FOREVER too – the fitted ones last for a while, the baggier ones end up stretching after a few washes I find.
Lastly, the scarf. Ohhhh, this scarf is one of my go-to accessories in the fall. It’s super lightweight so you can wear it on warmer fall days, but it’s also very full & can scrunch up nicely around your neck if it’s chillier out. I picked it up at a local store that my mom actually works at now, which is super cool! I love going into the little shoppe and browsing around. There’s some other cute scarves in there this year and I might have to splurge on another one!
What is your favourite print to wear in the fall? Mine is DEFINITELY leopard. But camouflage and plaid are close seconds & thirds. Wearing something that is printed really spices up an outfit when all you normally wear is whites, blacks, olive green and burgundy!
See you all tomorrow for this week’s Layers + Lipsticks linkup! This weeks theme is ‘half up ponytail’ and / or ‘distressed denim’.
