OK, so I’ve always been a Monday hater.
Basically all of my life.
But it really hit me in high school as to just how much I really hated Mondays.
There was nothing worse than waking up at 6:00am to be to high school for classes that started at 7:45am and then to work all evening at a Chinese food restaurant, go home & do whatever homework I might have had and then wake up and do it all again the next day.
But there was nothing bad about waking up on a Tuesday to do it, because I had already done it the day before and it was just the routine now for the rest of the week.
I don’t know why I had this big hate on for Mondays because really they’re no different than Tuesdays OR even Fridays for that matter.
Every single Monday lately, as of probably about five months ago, I wake up happy and so excited for the week ahead.
I never thought that I would be a fan of Mondays but I REALLY am.
They set the tone for the whole week ahead.
The way that you treat and view Monday will impact your week because it’s the start.
A new beginning.
If you wake up grumpy and full of negativity then that’s probably how the whole week is going to go.
If you wake up happy and full of positivity then that’s likely how you’re week ahead will be.
You see, e v e r y o n e and their mother loves January because it’s a fresh start, a new year, the beginning of something new. So why shouldn’t we treat Monday’s like that, too?
I mean if you want to get technical, I guess the calendar says that Sunday is the start of the new week, but LET’S BE REAL. Who actually does productive things on Sundays ( OK, maybe I do, but it’s still the weekend )?
If you’re productive, positive and love Monday, Monday will love you right back.
Give it a try next week & let me know how it goes.
Anyway, off to get gas ( the bane of my existence! ).
